Main vocalists were Hereward Kaye and Raphael Doyle. TR contributed one song (Give us a Break) and one lead vocal (Such a Night) to the album, which sold 600 copies. 2) In 1977 the Sex Pistols were widely crtisicised by fans and journalists for including four previously released singles and 'B' sides on their debut album. Therefore the 10 tracks on the UK version of TRB's "Power in the Darkness" LP were all completely new songs, omitting the previous hits 2-4-6-8 Motorway and Glad to be Gay. TRB were then widely criticised by fans for not including them - you can't win ! 3) All versions of "Power in the Darkness" outside the UK had "2-4-6-8 Motorway" added as an 11th track, as does the 1994 Cooking Vinyl CD re-release(COOK076). The USA version was a double album, with the further addition of: I shall be released Glad to be gay Don't take no for an answer Martin Right on sister Alright Jack. The recent CD reissue by Razor & Tie (RE2018) also has this track listing. 4) The extra tracks listed in 3) above - plus various other single 'A' and 'B' sides from 1978/9 - were finally released in the UK in album form on the "Tom Robinson Band" compilation by EMI in 1981. 5) "Hope and Glory" was scheduled for release in the USA by Geffen, who suddenly deleted the album after sending out promotional copies - no explanation was given. That album, and all subsequent ones until "Love Over Rage", are still effectively unreleased in USA. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Derek Macdonald adds; 'King Strut' and 'Gold' both by Peter Blegvad. Performed at Marco's in Edinburgh during the festival about 3 years ago.
